Summer time can be filled with adventure, play, and exploration. Even though the days are filled with ample amounts of sun, it's still important to practice your self care practices.
Make sure to take time to recharge after lots of social exchanges. Because summer is related to the element of fire, and things move quicker in the summer, take some time to connect with slow moments & cooling foods. Connecting with nature, and spending time outside is a beautiful way to expand into summer. Mental health can be challenged in the summer from lots of social interaction and from the shifts in the environment. Here in BC, we are experiencing very intense wild fires that are causing road closures, food shortages, and complications for rural areas. Because of this feelings of isolation, depression, anger despair, fear, confusion, frustration, etc can arise. All these feelings are absolutely normal. Be sure to connect with your community and support networks if you are navigating intense feelings about climate change during the summer months. And as always take deep care of yourself.
