Holistic & Integrative Counselling
Holistic and Integrative counselling is an approach that brings all parts of the client into consideration, and explores various modalities that are client centred. Holistic counselling acknowledges that there are many parts of us that make up the whole of us. Some parts include your mind, your body, your emotions, and your spirit. Integrative counselling pulls on various modalities to weave them together in a session depending on what you are presenting as a client. In Integrative counselling it is very important to stay client centred, meaning focusing on truly supporting the client. In integrative counselling, the counsellor makes sure that the various modalities are complimentary, and that the client finds them to actually be beneficial. The benefit of a holistic and integrative approach allows the counsellor to really explore various options that will best suit the client. Which means in terms of duration, the therapetuic dynamic can be more long term and exploratory.
